2014 World Championships Results
The Artist plays last game on tonight at Alexandra Palace, live on Sky Sports. It’s first to three sets, 3 legs to win a set, an most games run for approx an hour. So a late night for Kevin tonight, his game may not start until well after 10pm, and end sometime just after midnight. So a test of both skill and stamina, preparation is key for these late night games.
Round 1: Kevin Painter 3-0 Tomas Seyler
Kevin plays the best game of round 1, with one of the highest averages of the round, dominating the game and obviously enjoying the form he took on stage. He had the guys on commentating duty singing his praises. 98.59 average and 82% on doubles – some going.

3-0 – Painter hits an excellent 104 finish to establish a two sets advantage.
1-0 – Painter registers a 180 but a miss dart at bullseye gives Seyler a opportunity at an 80 finish. However, the German fails with two attempts to win his second leg of the game and Painter nicks it on double eight.

Round 2: Kevin Painter 4-0 Paul Nicholson
Another good performance (a little nervy at the start) from The Artist – he goes into round 3 not having lost a set! The 50% on checkouts and his finishing generally was always the difference. See an interview with Kevin after his win here on YouTube.
