The Artist in Bolton; UK Open 2013
Kevin Painter started his 2013 UK Open finals campaign with a very solid win against qualifier Jason Hogg, who had brought a lot of support along with him for his big night in the third round.
The Artist had of course skipped the first two rounds on Thursday, due to his top 32 qualification during the eight qualifiers on the floor, so he could relax in the Bolton sun Thursday preparing for his game. That preparation worked wonders, as Kevin confidently too his game 9-1, and put his name into the open draw for the last 32 fourth round.
Round 3: Kevin Painter 9-1 Jason Hogg
That draw saw Kevin pulled out against Gary Anderson, who had won a tight game on the main stage. They play on Saturday afternoon, live on Sky Sports in the 3rd game of the day.

Fourth Round (Last 32)
Best of 17 legs, played across four boards.
Round 4: Kevin Painter 9-7 Gary Anderson
What an amazing performance from the Artist, taking on the much fancied Gary Anderson, and beating him when it came right down to the wire. Kevin was very happy with the outcome of a really tough game, and thanks his fans for the messages of support.
Gary’s up there with MvG and Mr T in my opinion but he gave me chances by missing doubles. As you know I will NEVER give up! – The Artist after his win this afternoon
Evening Session (7pm-11pm)
Round 5 (Last 16): Kevin Painter 6-9 Adrian Lewis
What a draw for the Artist, taking on former world champ Lewis after both of them had epic games already today. Live on Sky Sports from 7pm onwards…
UPDATE: It wasn’t to be… The double world champ managed to keep his nose ahead through the game, and Kevin, gracious in defeat, wished him all the best on his twitter after the game.
