Kevin Painter backs Darts Family

Kevin Painter backs Darts Family

Alex Roy world champs 2011Today saw true sportsmanship, friendship and respect for fellow players shine through with Kevin Painter stepping in, to help fellow PDC player Alex Roy continue his dream of playing PDC darts in 2013.

Sponsorship is often crucial to help dart players fulfil their dream and sadly Roy lost a sponsor recently whose help was to cover qualifying school entry for the PDC Pro tour this January. It is not an easy task to find a sponsor in todays financial climate and even more so in a short space of time.

When Painter heard that Roy had lost his sponsorship and that his entry to the PDC Pro tour was hanging in the balance, he decided he wanted to help his fellow professional and friend, continue his dream.

Painter commented “I know what playing darts means to me and how hard it can be without sponsorship support in being able to continue your profession. I am glad I can offer support to ensure Alex can enter Q-School for his card again this year”.

Alex Roy’s manager Dave Holland on twitter this evening commented “@daverholland On behalf of @AlexRoy3 we would like to thank so much @officialkp180 for backing and sponsoring Alex at Q school, what a legend”.

Kevin and Roy have been close after journeying together for pro tour events over recent years but it just goes further to prove how close the ‘Darts family’ can be.
